Hi, I’m Sarah

I’m passionate about helping people succeed in life whatever their aims are! 

I’m going to be your mindset coach and mentor during our time together, supporting you to find solutions throughout your journey; while you’re making positive changes that support your healthier and fitter lifestyle and one that holds your mental and physical health at the heart of your day.

I’m a wife and mum to 2 teenagers, consequently I have many years lived experience of a busy family life. I discovered NLP and hypnotherapy over a decade ago working with a mindset coach and having had such a profound effect on my life it propelled me to qualify in both NLP and solution focused hypnotherapy in order to help others succeed. 

I have a background in Fitness and Nutrition and believe our mindset plays a huge part in becoming healthier and fitter in a more holistic way.

FAQ

What is solution focused hypnotherapy (SFH)?

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a ‘talking therapy’ where we don’t focus on the past or the cause of the problems, we focus on solutions and looking forward to what positive changes we can make. In SFH we use therapeutic tools to help you to start to think more positively, working towards a more positive future.

What is NLP?

NLP stands for Neuro -Linguistic Programming. It presupposes people aren’t wrong or right, whatever our current situation is is simply feedback to us. This feedback helps us to make the changes to achieve the outcome we’re looking for. Using language to challenge unhelpful thinking, which in turn impacts the actions that follow and the outcomes we achieve. What we say to ourselves matters!

Is hypnosis safe?

Yes it is. Hypnosis is a very relaxing process and puts you into a calm state that allows you to tap in to your subconscious mind making positive changes.

What does ‘trance’ mean?

Trance is something we do in our daily lives but may not have realised for example when we’re watching TV fully absorbed in a programme or have driven from A to B but can’t recall the journey. Essentially this is what we call daydreaming and in hypnotherapy we use this state to tap into the subconscious mind, the very powerful part that allows us to create much deeper and longer lasting change.

What happens in the free initial consultation?

During the initial consultation I will ask for some details about the reason for you coming to see me and a bit about your lifestyle. I’ll then give you an explanation as to how the mind works and how hypnotherapy plays a part in helping the brain. I’ll be giving you a free relaxation mp3 recording to listen to regularly in preparation for the upcoming sessions.

What happens in the subsequent sessions?

The structure of subsequent sessions has a few parts to it, at first we discuss what’s been good about your week and I use therapeutic tools to help you to discover what your next steps are, then we do the deeper work using trance, where you get the chance to relax back and listen to me taking you through a hypnotherapy process.

How long will my session last?

The free initial consultation lasts 30-45 mins. The subsequent sessions are around 45 mins- 1 hour.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of session really depends on the issue we are working to resolve. After the free initial consultation, we can access what you are looking to achieve and I can give an estimation. Usually we find clients require somewhere between 8-12 sessions. Please note that stop smoking requires a double session.

Where are the sessions carried out?

I work online via a zoom video call, so we are able to see each during the session.

Is the service you provide strictly confidential?

All the information you provide me is kept in strict confidence under the data protection act. I am a registered member of the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapists (AfSFH) and abide by the regulations set out. In a circumstance where I feel the client may be a danger to either themselves or another person, I may be obliged to inform an outside agency for example a GP, however I would endeavour to discuss this with the client first.

Like most of us I wanted to lose weight, look trimmer, feel better about myself but most of all improve my health. When I contacted Sarah, she was warm, welcoming and really listened to me, understanding my needs, my habits and what I wanted to achieve. Her knowledge and passion is both amazing and infectious, this with her positive encouraging and calm manner inspired me to achieve my goals.
